How much will e-cigarette cost compared to cigarettes?
We want to be realistic here. There are some websites that ‘claim’ electronic cigarettes to be 90% cheaper than tobacco cigarettes, but they are wrong.
The truth is, e-cigarettes can be anywhere from 25% to 50% the cost of smoking. This depends a great deal on what cigarettes you smoke (how much they cost per pack), and how fancy you want your e-cigarette to be.
A 1 Pack a day smoker:
- Total: $2920 per Year.
- High Quality electronic Cigarette Starter Kit with extra battery, 2 30ml bottles of e-liquid, and some fun accessories: $200
- Extra battery every 6 months – $25 x 2 = $50
- 2 30ml bottles of e-liquid each month: $455.76
- Replacement Parts — coils, atomizers, mouthpieces, etc. ($25 each month average) $30
- Total: $735.76
So in this example, electronic cigarettes are approximately 4 times less expensive over a year vs. tobacco cigarettes. Of course, if you change the price of cigarettes to say $4 a pack, they become about 2 times less expensive.
These numbers were not arbitrarily made up, but were determined from the accumulation of our customer feedback as they converted from tobacco cigarettes to e-cigarettes. As you can see, over the long term, using e-cigarettes is much more cost effective than tobacco cigarettes. This is, of course, on top of the fact that many studies show e-cigarettes to be 98-99% less harmful to your body than tobacco cigarettes. The truth is, even IF e-cigarettes were MORE EXPENSIVE than tobacco cigarettes, it would be WORTH IT to pay more to stop smoking tobacco cigarettes. The fact that it is up to 4 times cheaper to use e-cigarettes is simply an awesome bonus!
