E-Cigarette Safety

E-cigarette safety
The electronic cigarette is not a toy. It can be dangerous and even deadly if not used correctly and safely. There are a number of concerns I have for new people using personal vaporizers for the first time. Although this is an area for e-cigarette safety videos, I would like to first give you my top 5 safety list for your e-cigarette

Top 5 safety tips for safe e-smoking:

E-Liquid is a poison – The e-liquid bottles are small, and easy to misplace. If you have children or pets in your house, you must keep your e-juice and e-cigarettes safety away from them. There are many e-liquids that sound to children like they would be yummy. Many e-liquid flavours are labeled ‘chocolate’ ‘strawberry’ etc. and have photos of vanilla or caramel on them. Your child may mistake the labels, thinking they are some delicious drink. A single drop of e-liquid in my mouth is enough to turn my stomach, and I’ve had nicotine in my body every day for nearly 20 years. Treat your e-liquid the same way you would if it were a bottle of bleach, ammonia, or another household poison. Keep it away from children and pets.
Chargers, batteries, and plugs can be dangerous – I have a daughter who is 18 months old, and she puts everything in her mouth. Toys, paper, pens, crayons, stuffed animals, etc. If a charger is put in a low plug, it is very easy for a child to either grab or put the end in her mouth, which could cause burns and shocks. Long cords from AC plugs and USB cords can also wrap around small children’s necks. Keep all e-cigarette accessories on high ground, where children cannot access them.
Any modifications made to your e-cigarette are at the users peril – There are hundreds of mods that people have done to the e-cigarette in just the past few years. From adding power through batteries, to changing the way the cartridges work, to removing parts from the atomizer. Some of these mods I have done myself, and many work well for some e-smokers. Just keep in mind that if you modify your e-cigarette, it can increase its danger. E-cigarettes are designed to use the battery power and atomizer power they came with. Messing around with voltage and power can cause e-cigarettes to heat up, stop working, and may even batteries to melt or explode.
Be careful driving with your e-cigarette – Many people smoke and drive, so why not vape and drive? Vaping while driving is fine, and not against the law. However, it is important to remain focused when driving on the road. Doing things like changing your e-cig battery, dripping juice, etc. are things that should not be done when behind the wheel.
Become an informed consumer – Your health is not something to be taken lightly. It is up to you as the consumer to research e-cigarettes and determine if they are right for you. There are risks with e-cigarettes. As a very new technology, the e-cigarette is still undergoing many tests, and the long term results from these tests will not been known for a long time. I can state one thing that is a fact. E-smoking has changed my life in a positive way. I am healthier, have more energy, sleep better, am more athletic, smell better, taste foods better, and am overall a happier person then when I smoked traditional cigarettes for 17 years. It is up to you to make an informed decision on e-cigarettes. E-cigarettes are only for adults who are current tobacco smokers.
