Geekvape Aegis Max | Troubleshooting

Need help troubleshooting your Geekvape Aegis Max vape device?

If you own the Geekvape Aegis Max Starter kit this Aegis Max troubleshooting guide will assist you to fix many of your potential problems.  Here are some of the most common issues with this vape kit and ways you can troubleshoot them.

My Geekvape Aegis Max Starter kit is not firing when I push the button

This is a surprisingly common issue that customers have and one of the easiest to solve. Geekvape Aegis Max kits are shipped in locked position.  This means that you need to unlock your vape by pushing the button 5 times quickly to unlock.  Once it is unlocked, it will blink to confirm it is unlocked and will work.

The other simple issue is that it is not charged.  Simply plug the unit into a charging area using a micro USB cord.  When the device is charging it will indicate with a light. When the charge is complete, the light will shut off.  This charging process typically takes 60-120 minutes.

My Geekvape Aegis Max is leaking

If your Geekvape Aegis Max is leaking there are a few things that should be looked at in order to stop the leaking.  Because of the tank & coil design of the Geekvape Aegis Max it is an unlikely device to leak, but there are a few common issues that could cause it to leak.

A) Coil Missing or Misaligned

If you don’t install a coil into your device, it will leak.  If the coil is screwed in incorrectly (mis-threaded), there is a possibility of a leak if the device is laid sideways.

B) Cracked glass

If your Geekvape Aegis Max experiences a drop or encounters frequent jostling in your pocket or purse, it can lead to glass breakage. Even in the absence of visible cracks, a leak near the top may indicate potential glass damage. Exposure to freezing temperatures for an extended duration can also result in glass cracking in your Geekvape Aegis Max. It is important to never leave your vape in a car that’s freezing.

C) Over Filling

Overfilling your tank is the most likely reason for it to leak. There is a max fill line on your tank. Be sure to never fill your tank beyond the max fill line as it will leak out the top when you replace your coil.

When filling your Geekvape Aegis Max you do not need to remove the entire top along with the coil as you can simply unscrew the top most cap. Once you’ve unscrewed the top, you will see two kidney shaped filling holes. Watch as you are filling to ensure that you do not fill past the max fill line, and do not fill into the center hole.

D) Drawing Too Quickly

If you take very fast, hard draws off just about any vaping device, including the Geekvape Aegis Max, your device can be prone to leaking.  Vaping devices use the power of your inhale to pull e-liquid to the heating coils and mix with the vapour. If you take long and forceful pulls on the device, you may potentially draw e-liquid into the airflow chambers. To ensure a smooth vaping experience of any kind, we recommend taking slow and extended drags.

E) Device Sitting For Too Long

You should never store any vaping device filled with e-liquid.  Over time, the e-liquid will saturate your coil and begin to leak.  If you are not planning on using your device for more then 24 hours be sure to empty all e-liquid.

F) Flying

The increased pressure of flying will make all vaping products leak; even the Geekvape Aegis Max.  It is best to empty all vaping devices before flying on a plane.

G) Over Heating

If you leave any vape in a vehicle in the summer, especially in direct sunlight, it could leak.  Overheating the device can cause the e-liquid to expand, pushing it out through the o-rings or through the airflow holes.

H) Freezing

Leaving your device in a vehicle or any area under the freezing temperature could cause it to leak.  This is because some parts are plastic that can become brittle and are then susceptible to breaking under freezing temperatures.  The ideal temperature for any vaping device is +10 to +25 degrees Celsius.
